Walking After the Rain in Korea

 It rained last night.

Not a heavy rain.
Just enough to change the streets.

The air felt cleaner in the evening.
The noise was softer.
People walked a little slower than usual.

I noticed how the ground looked different.
The road reflected lights from shops and cars.
Even familiar streets felt new for a moment.

Some people carried umbrellas.
Others did not.
A few just let the rain touch their jackets and hair.

I watched someone stop under a small roof.
They checked their phone.
Then they looked up, as if waiting for the rain to decide for them.

After rain, the city feels honest.
There is no rush to make things perfect.
Water stays where it falls.
People accept it and keep moving.

Food smells felt stronger.
A small restaurant door opened.
Warm air came out, mixed with the smell of rain.

I thought about how rain changes plans.
You walk less.
You notice more.

Maybe that is why rainy days stay in memory longer.
They slow us down without asking.

Walking after the rain in Korea felt like that.
Nothing special happened.
But everything felt clear.

And sometimes, that is enough.
